I saw her in London just fabulous
Tallulah was a BiBi and Agnes was Hollywoods favorite Dike. I sure hope They had a good time !
Wow what star
Where was this? I’m obsessed with the set
Sylvie Palodino is easily as good as this.
Benedict Canyon - Cielo Road. That's where Sharon Stone and their guests were murdered by the Manson monsters.
She sounds like bette davis
From the first Oscars in 1958 on TV!
Love Tallulah Bankhead. She made her first film in 1918! She was hilarious on the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour.
Glenn Close has this role sewn UP! This is not a scream/sing at the top of lungs role. It requires subtle actions. LuPone isnt right for the part...yet.
Just terrific! What a fun entertainer! Delightful!
Am I the only one who thought this was godawful? I've just watched Betty Buckley's much-watched performance on UA-cam and LuPone is just terrible in comparison - her voice is flat, strident and has no beauty at all. Buckley is the opposite of that.
Lets face it, "Our Mae" wasnt the most classically beautiful woman to grace the stage and screen (except perhaps in 19th.Century vaudeville),however she was SO SEXY due to her intelligence and wit;She was the original,"ORIGIN&AL !!!", and there will NEVER be another like her.Ironically,I find her somewhat sexLESS!I feel that she "Talked -the -Talk" but didn't "Walk-the Walk!.........,maybe it was one reason why she often surrounded herself with gay/bi men(Hudson,Grant etc.) as she knew that she wouldn't have to compromise herself. Before anyone criticises me I must emphasise that I've GREATLY admired her for many years .I have read that she was a "Genuine" female however, her rather "neutral" looks, slightly falsetto voice and exaggerated mannerisms all signal the attributes of a "drag queen",but then again,"drag queens" have always emmulated her!! God Bless this WONDERFUL character; I'm sure that even "St.Peter" got "looked over" when she arrived at the "Pearly(or should I say,"Diamond) Gates"!
Yma Sumac is eternal! I am not surprised by the attitude of this Great Artist. She had every reason to be offended. Besides, I don't see any fury here, just a strong reaction to the shameful behavior of a woman in the audience. Moreover, I believe that the host of the concert acted inappropriately by trying to downplay what happened. Glory to the Artists who pushed vocal art to the heights of human possibilities!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Many was and are still incredible beautiful.
she could turn every guy into gay and vice versa 🙂 the pleasure was always on her side ... 🙂
So damned cute! 🎄 ❤❤❤
WHEN I'M GOOD, I'M VERY GOOD. WHEN I'M BAD, I'M EVEN BETTER.
"Sometimes its good to be bad" Amanda Lear 🙂
It only takes catching one person smirking or laughing etc especially when everyone else is attentive. They should explain her style and technique of vocalisation and singing before..so that doesnt happen. I imagine it had been a few years since she was as well kkown as she had been. But its very rude and immature to laugh at a performer especially in a television Audience... she handled it perfectly.💅💜🙏
Molto più spiritosa Gina qui che in altre occasioni. Mandy era già visibilmente dimagrita, non stava bene secondo me.
Wow Gina !
Awful so rushed. Forced.
No one has ever come near Patti in this. The Original and Best ❤❤❤
Interesting...Gloria Swanson was, well, what needs to be said about someone so truly glorious (please pardon the pun). As for Denver Pyle, well! I always knew he had to have been young at some time, but, as a teenager in the '70s, well, he has always been cast as the grizzled, bearded redneck grandpa, so to see him, younger and in a different character was a shock! It was not until he gave Miss Swanson that intense glare that I recognized him.
Gloria Swanson was married, briefly, to a French nobleman -either a comte or a marquis (I have forgotten which).
She actually did everything she had to do to keep out in front of the audience, and did it well
What a pity that she was dropped for the Broadway run!
I saw Betty Buckley in this role, and she was fantastic! Patti is the true original and should have opened the role on Broadway. I saw Glen Close in the revival... she was okay.
Tullullah Bankhead was just wonderful!..a great dramatic actress who was wickedly funny.
I love her!!!!!!!!!!!!!❤
Best part of the show.
She warmed up for the boy band that followed.
I'm fortunate to have the CD of this cast to play on a decent Hi-Fi system. Her voice is incredible.
Mae mentions this sketch with Hudson in her autobiography, but it doesn't seem like she knew Hudson preferred the bodybuilders she fucked.
Mae was a dude in drag. Hudson was VERY gay. Watch how goofy and lovey he is for Mae.
she could turn every guy into gay and vice versa 🙂 the pleasure was always on her side ... 🙂
@timsaunders7214. I loved May she never judged people what ever May was its none of our business.and to make it clear May was a girl.sorry to disappoint you.as for Rock Hudson he was a great actor.so what if he was gay big deal.there were loads in those days who were gay and lesbians that was hidden from the public to stop gossip people finding out.rest in peace to those people may godbless them Amen.as for May she was one cool lady.Godbless her too.Amen.🙏🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
well said!@@sandrakenney567
She’s a jumped up chorus girl compared to Glenn Close. Good for you - you have a nice voice. What have you done with it? I’m bored.
Nobody tops Buckley
Gina with me Caracas chez regine it was so nice
Meravigliosa, comunque diciamo tra le più belle, dire di qualsiasi donna la più bella dell'universo è esagerato. Di Leo Diana
Priceless!
NEXT!
Diva Madame Lollobrígida!!🤩
Irragiungibile. Era bella anche a 90 incredibile!
Sooooo Norma Desmond! I love it! ❤
She said in the movie "Why dont you come up some time and see me ". The saying has been twisted now as people say "Come up and see me some time ".Its not quite what she said in the movie.
Pretty sure she said both. She said the first line, then the second after she said “you can be had”
@@tula1433 Except She was a man ! biggest deception in the movies.
What a broad!!!
Rock: King size…..Mae: Mmmm
Em i am not sure about that hollywood people are very disfuncyonal and some are wackos crazynes and all that
Gloria Swanson is just wonderful here.
She was always so pretty
Just fabulous
Barbara Cook. knocks it out of the park, even better at this stage in her life understanding and conveying the depth of this song
